Join the Adroit Theory Crew on Saturday September 30th, as we host our 9.5 Year Anniversary Party; a.k.a. DAWN OF A DARK DAY. Normally, we only host this party once a year in the early spring. However, since it is our 10th Anniversary in 2024, we decided to throw a 1/2 year party (aka 9.5) this fall. We promise this will be the best + most mayhem we have crafted yet. Oh, and instead of just one Anniversary Beer, we are making 4 special bottled beers for the event!
This event is two events in one. A BeerFest during the day + a MetalFest in the evening. Pick which one to attend or just come to both!!
BEERFEST Event Details:

METALFEST - MetalFest begins right after our Dawn of a Dark Day BeerFest. Admission to METAL FEST is NOT included with a Dawn of a Dark Day BeerFest ticket.

Changes from Last Year:
If you attended prior events, thank you! The basic format will be the same, but here are just some of the changes that we think everyone will appreciate:
For the BeerFest (11-5pm) we will ONLY have our front Tap Room bar open + our front patio. We will NOT have the Rear Space open like we did in March. We also will not have a large tent on the patio (it looks like the weather will be nice). We will only have a smaller tent on the patio specifically for the Bottle Share Event.
We are reconfiguring the layout of the Merchandise + Bottle Share areas to minimize bottlenecks.
There will NOT be food options at the event. Please plan accordingly. Monks BBQ is close to the brewery, or you can have food delivered from various locations in down via the delivery services.
Bottle Share:
If you have attended any of our Bottle Share events, then you know these are special events where guests are encouraged to bring special beers (aka “whales”) they have collected or aged to share with the group. These could be Adroit Theory beers you have been saving, but more often they are beers from various US and International breweries that you have been saving for a special occasion. For instance, we will supply a good number of Stouts from prior years (like Demons or All That I Have Learned), but we will also provide beers from the Bruery (like Black Tuesday, So Happens It’s Thursday, etc).
It is not mandatory to bring a bottle/cans to the event, but encouraged. We suggest bringing a minimum of (1) bottle/can to share with the other attendees. There is no maximum number of how many you can bring other than the logistics of getting them to the party.
The Bottle Share will take place in the tent on the front of the building. The entire tent will be dedicated to the Bottle Share, and you may sample anything available. Adroit Theory staff will be present to show you where to put your bottles/cans upon your arrival, and will be pouring the guest beers (customers cannot pour the Guest Beers). Please note, VA ABC rules prohibit guests from bringing guest beers INSIDE the Brewery or Tap Room. Guest Beers must remain inside the separate tent at all times.
General Info:
We will be serving all beers at our main bar. Please be respectful. Order your drink at the bar and then step aside. Do NOT congregate at the bar. If the line is too long (particularly at the beginning of the event) simply visit the tent to sample the Bottle Share Beers. This is a 5 to 7 hour event so there will be plenty of times to sample everything.
Per VA ABC Rules this is a measured event where your Admission Ticket dictates how many Drink Tickets you will receive. One Drink Ticket equals one 5-ounce pour. Drink Tickets may be combined to get larger pours (2 Drink Tickets = 10oz or 3 Drink Tickets = 15oz). Additional Tickets may be purchased at the event at the cash bar, however, we will be closely monitoring over consumption. See below or more on our over consumption policy.
No cans/bottles of ANY beer is included with your Dawn of a Dark Day: BEER ticket. You will be given the option of purchasing beers when you purchase your event tickets, but ZERO “to go” beer is included with your standard ticket price.
All retail sales for merchandise, apparels, “to go”, cans, including the special release beer you may purchase ahead of time, will be held at a separate table inside the Brewery.
There will be ZERO growler sales at this event.
The METAL EDITION is NOT included with your Dawn of a Dark Day: BEER ticket. It will need to be purchased separately. If you purchase tickets for both the BEER + METAL event, you will be allowed to stay during the hour between the conclusion of the BEER event and the beginning of the METAL event.
This is a pre-paid type event, but please remember your bartenders. They work hard on an event like this, and tips are greatly appreciated including on merchandise sales.
Pre-Paid Release Beer Pickup:
We expect that everyone who purchases bottles online with their Dawn of a Dark Day: BEER ticket will attend the event. If you are unsure if you will be able to attend the event in person, please DO NOT purchase the Release Beer.
That said, we realize sometimes things happen to prevent attendance. Here are some things you need to know about pre-paid bottles:
No proxies allowed for the release pick up.
You will need to bring your ID that matches your ticket checkout name.
We will hold any bottles purchased ONLY for Saturday September 30th and Sunday October 1st.
Any beer not picked up by Sunday October 1st will be forfeit, and no refunds will be issued.
We are not shipping this beer. If purchased, it needs to be picked up at the Tasting Room in person.
If there are leftover beers available after Saturday September 30th they will be available for sale on Sunday October 1st on a first come, first serve basis.
Refunds:
No cancellations or refunds.
Age:
This is a 21+ age event.
Designated Drivers:
This year we ARE offering a specific ticket for Non-Drinkers or Designated Drivers. If you purchase this ticket please abide by the rules of no drinking. Violators will be ejected from the event with no refund.
Non-Alcoholic Drinks:
We will provide complimentary water bottles to all attendees throughout the duration of the event. Please note, we do NOT offer any other non-beer related beverages like wine, liquor, soda, juice, etc.
Parking:
There is ZERO parking at Adroit Theory. We recommend you arrive via Uber or Lyft. If you drive, you can park on our street cul-de-sac (Browning Ct). There will probably not be parking there, so you can park on North Bailey Lane directly behind the brewery. There are about 80 spaces on the curb, and it is a short walk to the brewery. There is ZERO parking in what used to be a Commuter Lot to the right of the brewery. The Commuter Lot was converted to the Loudoun County Bus Depot, and you cannot park there or you will be towed.
Weather:
The BEER portion of the event will be held on our front patio and our front Tap Room. It is a rain or shine event.
The METAL portion of the event will be held on the inside of our Rear Brewery where our old Tap Room was located. To comply with Town of Purcellville requirments, the doors will be closed other than for ventilation.
Changes or Substitutions:
We will update all social media platforms and ticket sites with any information that changes from the original post. Note, Adroit Theory reserves the right to make any changes to the event to accommodate unforeseen events. All details are subject to change including Adroit Theory beer releases, Guest Beers, and Bands. Adroit Theory will strive to relay changes to guests, and take reasonable steps if substitutions will be made.
Over Consumption:
WE WILL MONITOR ANY OVER CONSUMPTION CLOSELY AND WILL CUT OFF ANY PATRONS AT ANY TIME. OVERLY INTOXICATED INDIVIDUALS WILL BE EJECTED FROM THE EVENT WITH NO REFUND.
